Description |
This Confederate double breasted frock coat is made of gray wool. It has a dark blue cotton collar and pointed cuffs. There is gold braid indicating rank on the cuffs and three braided stars on each side of the collar. The coat has ten U.S. eagle buttons on the front (5 on each side but 2 are missing on each side). There is cotton muslin in the sleeves and brown cotton lining in the breast and tails. Three button closures on the cuffs (all the buttons are missing). |

This frock coat was worn by Colonel Joseph P. Nuckols of the 4th Kentucky Infantry, CSA. He was later Adjutant General of Kentucky (1879-1883). |
