Description |
This is a print from a wood engraving that was originally published in "Harper's Weekly" during the Civil War. However, this print is from "Wright's Official Illustrated War Record", Washington, 1898. In it, a column of troops, six abreast, marches up a street from the right background and turns right into a long one story building flying an American flag, presumably a barracks. The building sits on a corner and there are four ranks of soldiers at attention on the side street. Two women and a man watch from the intersection. |
