Description |
This is a lithographed circular tinplate tab button for democratic candidates Adlai Stevenson for President and Estes Kevauyer for Vice President in the 1956 presidential campaign. The face of the button is made of three horizontal stripes: one in red, white and blue. The top banner is red with the word "ADLAI" in white lettering centered on the red banner. The narrower middle band is white with the word "AND" in blue in the center, and the bottom banner is blue with the word "ESTES" in white lettering centered on the blue banner. The neck of the tab is red. There are three small blue union labels stacked vertically down the center of the tab. The text around the labels reads, "BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER N.Y." |

This tab button is from the 1956 presidential campaign consisting of Dwight Eisenhower as presidential candidate, and Richard Nixon as vice-presidential candidate representing the Republican ticket. Adlai Stevenson ran as the democratic presidential nominee and Estes Kefauver as the democratic vice-presidential nominee. Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon won the election. |
