Description |
This is a circular paper campaign advertisement from the 1940 Presidential race of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Wendell Wilkie. On the right is a red, white, and blue printed image of a frowning Uncle Sam with his right arm extended out and his right thumb down. Opposite of Uncle Sam, the phrase "NO / THIRD / TERM!" is printed in red against a white background. There is a blue oval-shaped printers union label below Uncle Sam with the number 303 printed to the right of the label. There is a hole in the top with a string through it for hanging. |
Notes |
In 1940, Franklin Roosevelt ran for an unprecedented third term, breaking from a tradition held since George Washington's presidency. He won. |
