Description |
This is a pocket pencil/pen combination. It has a brass body with a textured black hard rubber sheath. The fittings are 14K gold and include a gold nib in slot in tip, a sliding gold ring that locks the nib in place. A turning top half of pin activates the mechanical pencil nib to emerge from hole in tip. |
Notes |
Martin Schmidt (1821-1913) was a German tanner and leatherworker who immigrated to Louisville from Hesse in September, 1848. In his later years he was a superintendent for the Tanner's Offal Company. |
