Description |
This is a delegate button with ribbon that was created for the Democratic State Convention in Cedar Rapids, IA, August 16, 1900. The button is a pressed celluloid-type process button with a sepia-toned headshot photograph of William Jennings Bryan looking to the left. He is wearing a dark suit coat, white-collared shirt, and dark bow tie. Attached to the button is a vertically-striped silk ribbon in red, white, and blue stripes with gold foil print on the ribbon which reads "DELEGATE/DEMOCRATIC/STATE /CONVENTION/CEDAR RAPIDS, IA./AUGUST 16, 1900". The button is metal with metal pin attached to the back. The paper maker's label is glued to the inside of the button and back of the ribbon. |
