Description |
This is a tan, desert camouflage cloth hat with a wide brim. There are four small vent holes on the side panels. On the front of the side panel is a patch with a oak leaf. There is a neck strap with a slider piece. "RODGERS" is handwritten on the inside and on the tag. |
Notes |
Ken Rodgers was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He first joined the Marine Corps out of high school in 1983 and left in 1987. He joined the Marine Corps Reserves for two years, serving at Fort Knox as a tank commander. He joined the Air Force ROTC at the University of Louisville and then joined the US Airforce in 1992. He retired in 2008, reaching the rank of Major (the oak leaf insignia is sewn onto the uniform). He flew E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) over New York City after the September 11th attacks and in combat missions over Afghanistan. He was stationed in Oman starting in 2002. He earned several medals including two air medals. Post military services include working for the FBI, training pilots at UPS, and flying commercial aircraft for American Airlines. |
