Description |
"Prisoners Returning from Worship", (view from engine house), is a lightly colored lithograph by Hart & Mapother, Louisville. It was taken from a photograph by C. A. Clarke of Frankfort and printed in "Sneed's History of the Kentucky Penitentiary", Frankfort, 1860. There is a large two story building with a rectangular cupola and a formation of prisoners in front and exiting. A non functioning fountain stands in front of them with officials and piles of lumber and building materials in front of all. Other buildings flank the picture with the prison wall behind. |
