This landscape shows a forest path with a set of steps flanked by two trees. There is also a fallen log on the right side of sketch. From note attached to back of drawing: "This pen sketch was made by Paul Sawyier about 1884, when he began studying art with Miss E.S. Hutchins--his first instructor--and probably the earliest bit of his work." |
