Description |
This dark blue wool jacket has a nine-button front closure. There are three buttons on each cuff. All buttons are brass eagle buttons, with a "C" in the shield. The interior is lined with dark blue wool, which is quilted at the breast and along the shoulders. It has two interior welt pockets. The sleeves are lined with cotton. |

Records from the J. B. Speed Museum indicate this is a Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) uniform jacket. Kentucky Military History Museum records identify it as a Civil War Federal cavalry officer's jacket. |
