Description |
This is a cardboard and ribbon political badge for an alternate delegate to the Democratic State Convention in 1936. The pin is a rectangular cardboard card with "Alternate" in black ink and wrapped with a decorative unknown black and metallic gold painted metal frame with two notches. A rectangular black and metallic gold metal piece is under the wrapped frame on the back with lettering that reads "No 5" and PAT. NO./2035,789/ MID-WEST BADGE & NOVELTY CO." A clasp pin attached to the back. There is a narrow piece of cardboard tucked into the lower edge of the metal frame on the back with black lettering that reads "Wachtel Novelty Co., Louisville, Ky.". Stapled to this card is a red, white and blue grosgrain ribbon with a swallow tail end. There is metallic gold lettering on the ribbon that reads "DEMOCRATIC/ STATE/ CONVENTION/ JUNE 9th, 1936/ LOUISVILLE/ KENTUCKY". |
