Description |
This is a man's Levy Brothers suit. The jacket is single-breasted and fitted. It has a three button front fastening, two horizontal hip patch pockets with cord detail, two inside breast pockets, narrow lapels, and a small collar. The jacket also has inset sleeves with three button detail. The trousers are flared at the hem and have two diagonal welt pockets at the hip, as well as two horizontal welt back pockets. |
Notes |
"Johnny Carson for Levy Bros." label inside jacket. The clothing in this donation was all worn by the donor during the late 1960s and early 70s. The very successful and well-known family owned Levy Brothers department store was built in downtown Louisville in 1896. It was a five-story building complete with turret and closed its doors for good in the 1970s. |
