Description |
This is a newspaper clipping from "Harper's Weekly" of Maysville, Kentucky from October 12, 1861. The image is titled "The City of Maysville, Kentucky, scene of the Great Union Barbecue" and depicts the Ohio River in the center of the image with one steamboat in the foreground and another in the background. To the right of the river is the city of Maysville and there are many buildings and homes, including two steeples in the middle of the town, with a hillside behind the city. In the foreground in front of the city is a fenced in pathway with a horse drawn cart near the bottom surrounded by trees. In the background of the image there are many hills and to the left of the river there is a small hill with trees on it. On the back of the image there is a a cut off picture of men in army uniforms. |
