This is a brown paper shopping bag printed for George Atkins' run for governor of Kentucky in 1979. The bag has red mezzotint of Atkins on the right side. The slogan "Give George a Hand/Atkins for Governor" runs down the left side and across the bottom. Atkins signature is on the bottom right of the image. |

George Atkins made a run for the office of governor against Julian Carroll in 1979. Atkins eventually dropped out of the race and supported John Y. Brown, who won the election. |
