This is the "Famous Kentucky Women" quilt. There is a stylized applique courthouse in the center block of blue cotton-poly spatterware print. There is two inch white border around this center square. A piece of fabric made to look like an American flag waves to the right of the building. There is an appliqued green silhouette of Kentucky below the courthouse. The words "Kentucky Women" are embroidered in a contrasting green thread. There are fourteen solid colored triangular shaped blocks radiating out from the central block. Each one is a different color ranging from greens to blues, browns to reds and yellows to purple. Each triangular block has an iron-on transfer with two computer generated images with captions. These squares are outlined in black embroidery The binding for the quilt is the same blue print as the center. There is a white cotton backing on the quilt. The quilt is machine quilted in a ray pattern that radiates out from the center on the outer blocks. The quilting is also in the outline of the central block and the center border.
