Description |
This is a tan participant's ribbon from the Eleventh Reunion of the First Kentucky Orphan Brigade, C.S.A., held in Paris, Kentucky on September 28, 1892. The silk ribbon has blue printed text that reads, "11TH REUNION / Orphan Brigade / PARIS, KY., / September 28, 1892." It features a waving flag on a pole with tasseled ropes. The flag has two red horizontal stripes on either side of a white one and a blue field in the upper left corner with seven white five-pointed stars. The top and bottom ends of the ribbon are cut and frayed. |

The Confederate First Kentucky Brigade, nicknamed the Orphan Brigade, included the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 9th Kentucky Infantry regiments and Cobb’s, Byrne’s and Graves’s batteries of artillery, and, at times, the 3rd and 5th Kentucky Infantry. |
